How to record your screen with audio
- Choose whether to record your microphone and tab/system sound.
- Click "Start recording" and pick the screen, window or tab to share.
- Click "Stop" (or stop sharing in the browser bar) and download the MP4.
Recording quality
- Free: up to 1080p at 30 fps, tuned for sharp text in tutorials, documents and code.
- Pro: full resolution up to 4K, plus a 60 fps mode for games, animations and smooth scrolling.
- For the sharpest result, share a single window or tab instead of a whole high-resolution screen.
Capturing sound
- Microphone: your browser asks for permission the first time.
- Tab sound: when sharing a Chrome or Edge tab, tick "Share tab audio".
- Whole-screen system sound: supported by Chrome and Edge on Windows; macOS browsers can only capture tab sound.
Good to know
- Screen recording works in desktop browsers; phones and tablets don't allow websites to record the screen.
- Recordings are saved as MP4 so they play everywhere; you can trim them or turn them into GIFs with the other tools.
- Free recordings can be up to 5 minutes long in 1080p; Pro has no time limit and records in up to 4K and 60 fps.
Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Vidverter runs entirely in your browser and uses your device's own video encoders. Files never leave your computer or phone, so it is safe for private recordings, and there is no upload or download wait.
Is there a watermark?
No. Recordings are yours, with no watermark and no branding.
