How to compress video for email
- The target size is preset to 25 MB. Change it if your limit is different.
- Add your video by clicking the box above or dragging it in.
- Click "Compress". A ✓ next to the result means it is under 25 MB.
Where this limit comes from
Gmail allows 25 MB of attachments per email and Outlook.com 20 MB; bigger files are turned into cloud links. Many company mail servers allow only 10 MB, so set the target lower if your emails bounce.
How it fits the video into the limit
Vidverter divides the size budget by the video's length to get a bitrate, reserves a little for audio, and picks a resolution that bitrate can carry well, from 1080p down to 480p. If the encoder overshoots, it automatically runs a second, slightly smaller pass.
Short clips stay sharp even at 25 MB. For long videos, trim them first: fewer seconds means more quality per second.
Frequently asked questions
Can every video be compressed to 25 MB?
Most clips can. If a video is too long to fit with watchable quality, Vidverter tells you, and you can trim it or choose a larger target.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Vidverter runs entirely in your browser and uses your device's own video encoders. Files never leave your computer or phone, so it is safe for private recordings, and there is no upload or download wait.
